Thematic Areas

1. Resilient Livelihoods

Building Pathways to Sustainable and Dignified Work

Youth Employability Network (YEN) believe that true empowerment begins when individuals are able to secure stable, dignified, and future-ready livelihoods. Our Resilient Livelihoods thematic area is designed to strengthen the economic independence of youth, women, and vulnerable communities by equipping them with skills, opportunities and resources aligned with market realities. YEN recognize that today’s job market is rapidly evolving, requiring not just employment, but adaptability, innovation, and resilience. Through a holistic approach, we support individuals in transitioning from vulnerability to economic stability by fostering entrepreneurship, employability, and local economic engagement.

Our key interventions include:

  • Demand-driven vocational and technical skills development programs
  • Entrepreneurship incubation and small business development support
  • Career counseling, job readiness training, and employment linkage services
  • Market systems and value chain development for local economic growth
  • Community-based livelihood strengthening and income diversification initiatives

Through these efforts, YEN enables youth not only to earn income but to build long-term resilience, dignity and self-reliance in an increasingly competitive economy.

2. Safe & Regular Migration Awareness

Empowering Informed Choices for Safe Mobility

Migration continues to be a significant pathway for economic opportunity, yet unsafe and irregular migration exposes individuals to exploitation, uncertainty, and risk. At YEN, our Safe & Regular Migration Awareness thematic area ensures that individuals make informed, legal, and secure migration decisions. YEN works at the grassroots level to promote awareness about safe migration channels, migrant rights, and the consequences of irregular migration. Our goal is to replace misinformation with knowledge and vulnerability with informed agency.

Our key interventions include:

  • Community-based awareness sessions on safe and regular migration pathways
  • Pre-departure orientation and migrant readiness programs
  • Legal guidance on documentation, visas, and recruitment processes
  • Counseling and psychosocial support for migrants and their families
  • Referral linkages with government institutions and migration support services

By promoting safe, structured, and informed migration, YEN ensures that mobility becomes a pathway of opportunity rather than risk, enabling individuals to pursue their aspirations with dignity and security.

3. Financial Inclusion

Expanding Access to Opportunity Through Financial Empowerment

Financial inclusion is a cornerstone of sustainable development, yet many individuals especially youth and women remain outside formal financial systems. YEN’s Financial Inclusion thematic area focuses on bridging this gap by enhancing financial literacy, access, and empowerment. YEN aim to build financially aware communities capable of making informed decisions about savings, credit, investments and business growth. By strengthening financial capability, we help individuals transition from financial exclusion to active economic participation.

Our key interventions include:

  • Financial literacy and household financial management training
  • Savings culture promotion and community financial group formation
  • Linkages with microfinance institutions, banks and credit providers
  • Support for small enterprise financing and business expansion
  • Digital financial literacy, including mobile banking and fintech awareness

Through these initiatives, YEN empowers individuals to confidently engage with financial systems, unlock opportunities and build secure economic futures.

4. Climate Resilience

Strengthening Communities for a Changing Climate

Climate change is reshaping livelihoods, particularly in agriculture-dependent and vulnerable communities. YEN’S Climate Resilience thematic area focuses on building adaptive capacity, promoting sustainability, and supporting communities to respond effectively to environmental challenges. We work to integrate climate awareness into livelihood systems, ensuring that communities are not only aware of climate risks but are also equipped with practical tools to adapt and thrive.

Our key interventions include:

  • Climate-smart agriculture training and sustainable farming practices
  • Community awareness campaigns on environmental protection and climate risks
  • Disaster risk reduction (DRR) and preparedness capacity building
  • Promotion of green livelihoods and eco-friendly income opportunities
  • Support for adaptation strategies at household and community levels

By fostering resilience and sustainability, YEN enables communities to protect their livelihoods while contributing to environmental conservation and long-term ecological balance.

5. Research & Institutional Development

Driving Impact Through Evidence and Strong Institutions

YEN believe that meaningful development is built on evidence, strong systems and informed decision-making. YEN’s Research & Institutional Development thematic area strengthens organizations, programs and policies through high-quality research, analysis and capacity building. We support stakeholders in understanding complex socio-economic challenges and designing interventions that are data-driven, effective and sustainable.

  • Market research, feasibility studies and socio-economic assessments
  • Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) system design
