YOUTH EMPLOYABILITY NETWORK

Almost 10 million Pakistanis are migrants from the Pakistan and they are working outside Pakistan for their livelihood. Pakistan is 9th largest labor force in the world with a majority of young population. Pakistan is 5th in Asia having highest number of youths aspiring to work abroad. Most of the Pakistani migrant workers who are working in gulf countries they chose the regular path of migration but many of the migrant workers towards European countries are choosing the irregular migration. The path of irregular migration is fraught with dangers such as;

  • Exploitation in the hands of human traffickers/smugglers.
  • Extortion.
  • Injury & Death.
  • Arrest & Deportation.
  • Travel bans for self and family members

To guide the potential migrant workers about the safe, orderly & regular migration and facilitation for the reintegration of the returnee migrant workers, youth employability Network has implemented the following projects with different international partners and collaborators. YEN is also implementing projects for the reintegration of the return migrants in Pakistan.

Youth Employability Network has implemented “Global Action to Improve the Recruitment Framework of Labour Migration (REFRAME)” Project of International Labor Organization (ILO) in collaboration with MMPL for raising awareness on safe, orderly & regular migration. The project was implemented in Multan, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Swabi & Mardan, YEN has engaged more than 8000 potential migrants and 854 return migrantsin this project. Under this project the potential migrants were given the pre-departure orientation, they were guided about the procedures of the migration, awareness about different institutions the are engaged for different processes of the migration e.g. NADRA, Passport office, embassy, Protectorate of Emigrant Offices, travel agent and others. They were also trained about their rights and responsibilities while they are living as migrant in any other country.

Youth Employability Network is implementing Sustainable reintegration Pakistan project. In this project YEN will identify, mobilize and trained 100 European return migrants in business development trainings for their reintegration in their home country. The project is being implemented in in Punjab, Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).

Youth Employability Network has completed a project with Migrant resource center Lahore, the project was done with intended migrants, returnee migrants and students who are intended to go abroad, YEN has engaged 35 returnees and 900+ intended migrants andstudents in this project. The project beneficiaries have been guided about the process of safe & informed migration, they were informed about the different organization and institution that can facilitate them during the process of safe migration. The beneficiaries were also engaged in pre-departure orientation and they were also trained about their rights and responsibilities while they are living as migrant in any other country

Youth Employability Network (YEN) has successfully completed “community outreach project for raising awareness on safe, orderly & regular migration, the project was funded by International centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) under this project YEN has done an awareness raising campaign and community outreach on safe, orderly and regular Migration for 8000 potential migrants and 1000 return migrants,YEN has engaging return migrants and potential migrants in skill training programs and refer them to the relevant government skill training institutions. The project was implemented in Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhelum, Sialkot, Mardan & Mirpur (AJK). The project was focused on raising awareness on safe and informed migration and guiding potential migrants about the risk of irregular migration while using the path of illegal migration to European countries.

Youth Employability Network has worked with United National International Organization for Migration (UN-IOM) and successfully completed this project. YEN has engaged 80 return migrants in this project and delivered business development trainings for 80 return migrants and communities of Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sialkot & Rawalpindi under “Strengthening Social & economic resilience of returning Pakistani migrants” project the project was funded by GIZ Pakistan. YEN has also engaged 80 return migrants and local population in skill trainings in four different trades for their economic resilience in the community.

Youth Employability Network has signed MoU with Migrant Resource Centre for safe migration awareness and counselling of potential migrants and reintegration of the return migrants, the project will be competed in 2025. Under this project YEN will facilitate 2000 potential migrants for safe, orderly and regular migration and YEN will also facilitate 100 return migrants for their reintegration in Pakistan

Youth Employability Network has implemented PARIM – Project with the financial support of International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), Under this project YEN has completed Identification of 3500 potential migrant workers and return Migrants, YEN have deliver Training sessions/awareness sessions on safe, orderly & regular Migration, Linkage of return migrants with TEVET institution and providing them the skill trainings, Coordination and engagement of district departments to work on safe, orderly & regular Migration. The project has been implemented in migration prone districts (Gujranwala, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin & Sialkot) of Punjab. The project was focused on raising awareness on safe and informed migration and guiding potential migrants about the risk of irregular migration while using the path of illegal migration to European countries.

YEN has completed community outreach for awareness raising on safe, orderly & regular migration Punjab project with the financial support of ICMPD, the project was implemented in Gujranwala, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin & Sialkot. YEN has engaged more than 2400 potential migrants in this awareness campaign, YEN has also engaged 668 return migrants in this project

Youth Employability Network has worked with care international in Pakistan (CIP) on provision of economic opportunities to reintegrate migrants project and delivered entrepreneurial skills training to 100 beneficiariesunder provision of economic opportunities to reintegrate migrants project. YEN has also provided skill trainings in four different trades (Fast Food, Stitching & Embroidery, Driving skills and Beauty Parlor & Saloon Management) and linkages with the financial institution to 78 migrants and communities for their economic reintegration in their local communities.

Youth Employability Network is implementing “Sustainable Reintegration Pakistan (SRP) – Psychosocial Support for return migrants from European Union” project. Inthis project YEN will identify, mobilize and trained 75 European return migrants in psychosocial support for their reintegration in their home country. The project is being implemented in in Punjab, Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).
